15 months they had been together, 15 months she had fought the demons that had crept within his soul. She fought for his happiness, she encased his tears, and she gave up her body to please him. She loved him with everything that she had in herself, yet she felt the love change sometime after the 13th month.
He was colder, more distant, striking out to make her bleed. He made her cry, and he made her regret everything she ever did to him to make him feel bad. She felt bad that she couldn't get over her fears, that she couldn't repay him for all the things he got her. He seemed to care less about the things she liked to talk about. She tried to stay on interests that he liked, but it seemed that he just didn't care.
She carried so much, she wanted to just cry. She stared at her mirror one day, and didn't recognize herself. She was a welp from what she had been once, a woman that was proud of herself. Now, all she had to hold onto was the fact that she knew she was beautiful. She had only one thing to hold onto, and she felt her sanity slip.
She thought to herself more often now, what would it be like to live in a world made up in your mind? What would it be like to just live in a place of escape? A place that didn't burn her for her mistakes, that didn't make her feel that she couldn't do better. A place that she could call home, and not have to worry if she was saying the wrong things. A place of her own, that no one else could take away from her, even if she was poor. A place where the relationship to be just like before, and he wouldn't say or do the samethings he did. A place of her own.
